XAHNI
The word Xahni means To transmit knowledge in the Otomi dialect, but it is also a thesis project born from the combination of design, food, history and culture. The main goal of this project is to motivate people to learn about Mexican culture, using food as the main medium to do so.
It consists of nine sweets made from three traditional ingredients (amaranth, cocoa and pumpkin seed). Each sweet represents one of three moments throughout the culinary history of Mexico (past, present and future), this makes it possible to have three sets of sweets each with a common base ingredient and with mixtures that seek the historical accuracy of the flavours.
By using visual identity and packaging design we can not only rely on the sweets to tell a story but on the graphic qualities of the product that are both dynamic and informative. Two types of packaging are also presented: the large one with the 9 flavors and the small one with your favourite flavor.
